ABOUT PROPHET SAMUEL AKINBODUNSE
ABOUT THE FOUNDER (PROPHET SAMUEL AKINBODUNSE)
Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse was born on the 4th April, 1972. At the age of four (4), his mother was warned by a travelling Prophet that the young Samuel has an unequivocal and inevitable call of God upon his life and thus should be protected from the strife in his polygamous home by being taken away.
In adherence to the warnings of the prophet and preserve his life, young Samuel was sent to live far away to a missionary home to go and stay with his paternal uncle Prof. Omolasho Akinbodunse of Gospel Faith Mission International.
In 1980, he accepted the Lord and was baptized at the age of 8. It was under the mentorship of his uncle, Prof. Omolasho Akinbodunse and in the Gospel Faith Mission Int & the Scripture Union (S.U) that he was tutored in solid biblical foundation and doctrines of the Word of God.
He had his primary education at Demonstration Primary School (now Unity Primary School) and his secondary education was completed at the Ijebu Community Grammar School both in Owo, Ondo State. At the completion of his secondary education, he enrolled at the Ilaro Technical College, Abeokuta in Ogun State to study Marine Engineering. He, unfortunately, dropped out of the school. The dream of a tertiary education was eventually terminated when his wealthy father encountered financial hardships.
Against the challenges of constant financial lack and life hardships, he tried his hands on different menial jobs to make ends meet including brick-laying and playing soccer for money/sustenance. At some point, he attempted to become a pilot and migrate to the United States of America – all to no avail.
It was in the time of this sojourn, at the age of 21 years, that he met Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). Prophet Hezekiah prophesied to the 21-year-old Samuel that he is called into full-time ministry as a Prophet. This infuriated the young Samuel who disliked prophets because his ambition was just to be rich and take care of his family. However, when he told his mother that he wanted to be a prophet, she sharply rebuked him. After a while, he went to Prophet Hezekiah and began to stay with him. Even though he was not happy about the decision, he chose to stay under the tutelage of the prophet because of the fear of God upon his life.
For ten (10) years, Prophet Samuel received prophetic training and discipling under the mentorship of Prophet Hezekiah between the years 1993 to 2002. In the course of stewardship under Prophet Hezekiah, Prophet Samuel fought and overcame family spiritual battles and understood the falcons of the prophetic office. It was under Prophet Hezekiah’s guidance that his prayer life was radically changed.
In 1999, Prophet Hezekiah locked him in a room in his house for three (3) days so he could pray and get revelation about his calling. It was in that spiritual peregrination that Prophet Samuel saw a vision of South Africa. He didn’t know much about South Africa then except the little fragments of the country he learnt about the country during his secondary school days. Prophet Samuel however hid his revelation from his mentor, because his heart was set on America. To his dismay, while at a conference, Prophet Hezekiah received a prophecy that “the young man in your house is hiding a revelation from you” and then he was forced to confess.
On the 12th October, 2002; Prophet Hezekiah sponsored the young man’s trip to South Africa. When he arrived in South Africa, he did not abandon his dream of leaving the country. He attempted to go to Singapore but only lasted 14 days in transit.
In South Africa, the struggles of life continued for the young prophet. At a point, he was evicted from his rented room because he could not afford rent and had to resort to sleeping on the streets as a homeless in a park (Burgers Park) in Pretoria.
Through the Grace of God, he met people who helped him by providing him accommodation and introduced him to the hair beauty and salon business. The enterprising and resourceful Samuel quickly became street marketer- canvassing for customers for hair salons. Having acquired sizeable clientele, he opened his own Salon in Pretoria in 2005.
Earlier in 2004, God blessed him with a beautiful wife, Prophetess Eunice Akinbodunse. Prophet Hezekiah had prophesied that he will meet his wife and she appeared as it was prophesied. The marriage is blessed with three children and at the prompting of the Lord, they adopted two more children.
In the same year 2004, he started doing outreach ministry, preaching and evangelizing in the streets and holding prayer meetings in his shop. Soon, word started spreading that there is a Prophet around whose word does not fall on the ground. This made people from far and near to seek him to receive God’s words from his mouth.
In his insatiable quest for further learning, Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse enrolled in St. Thomas-a-Becket Institute and University, Canterbury, England where he obtained his Certificate Bachelor of Arts Christian Religious Studies in 2015. Two years later, in 2017, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Divinity (D.D) at the St. Thomas-a-Becket Institute and University, Canterbury, England, Thereafter, he attained his academic PhD degree in Humanities in 2019 at the Trinity International University of Ambassadors in the United States of America.
Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse has authored many books and devotionals which have caused unprecedented testimonies among many readers and followers. Some of these include Soul of Man; Unveiling the Image Carrier; Sustaining Your Deliverance; Deliverance from Spiritual Husband and Wife; Breaking the Curse of Bastard.
By God’s grace, Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse is the Founder, President and General Overseer of Freedom for All Nations Outreach (FANO) worldwide with the headquarters in Pretoria, South Africa.
